Grand Teton National Park is located in northwest Wyoming, south of Yellowstone National Park. Entry fee into Grand Teton National Park is $35 per vehicle, and this pass gives you access to the Tetons for seven days. If you’re visiting more than one national park this year, consider the America is Beautiful Park Pass.
Grand Teton National Park does not have shuttle service within the park, so it’s best to get around using your own vehicle, either your own or a rental vehicle (providers such as Discovercars or RV Share).
Stop first at the Visitor Center (Craig Thomas Discovery Center, Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve Center, Jenny Lake, Colter Bay, and The National Elk Refuge & Greater Yellowstone Visitor Center in Jackson) to get information about the trail status, tips, and points of interest.
Accommodation
There is something for every budget in Jackson Hole. There are also a few lodges in the park (Colter Bay Cabins, Jackson Lake Lodge, Jenny Lake Lodge), however, these book up quickly, often 6 months in advance – so book early!
Our Intinary
Colter Bay Visitor Center was our first stop after that we went kayaking to the Jackson Lake, but before entering the lake we needed an inspection for the boot.
The next day did a the 42-miles scenic drive to visit the Cunningham Cabin, Snake River Overlook, and Schwabacher Landing, where we saw some mooses.
At Jenny Lake we took the boot and hiked to the Hidden Falls trail and a part of the Paintbrush Canyon.
One day we spent in Jackson. On the way back we stoped at Mormon Row District and took a lot of Moulton Barn pictures in the sun set.
Unfortunately, it was a smoky the whole time, so we didn’t have a clear view of the Tetons – maybe next time.
Teton National Park Highlights
- Visit Jenny Lake or Colter Bay Visitor Center, pick up the Junior Ranger book if you have children age 5-12 years
- Spend time to observe the park animals
- Enjoy some time at Mormon Row Historic District
- Photograph the T.A. Moulton Barn
- Stop at Schwabacher’s Landing
- Discover the nearby town Jackson
- Drive the 42-meile “Scenic drive”
- Go biking, horseback riding, kajaking or fishing in one of the lakes
- Eat a pizza at Pinky G’s Pizzeria (big & yummy)
- Hike a trail e.g. Hidden Falls trail, Paintbrush Canyon, Inspiration Point or Jenny Lake Loop
- Go Kajaking at one of the lakes Phelps Lake, Taggart & Bradley Lakes, Marion Lake,
- Visit the National Elk Refuge
Camping & Accommodations
Grand Teton Lodges and Camping – Teton National Park you can book one year in advance and the canceling fee is not high in the National Parks.

Travel Time
In my opinion, the best time to visit the park is end of May or at the beginning of June and in September. If you travel in summer, it is good to plan the trip as early as possible June – August are the main travel months. So, everything gets filled up fast.
RV, Car Rentals and Flights

National Park Entrance Fee
Seven-day entrance passes cost $35 per car and $20 per hiker. If you plan on visiting multiple USA national parks, it is best to get an America the Beautiful Pass.
