Utah RV Road Trip Escalante Staircase

Escalate Scenic View

Spooky Slot Canyon

Escalate – Dusty – Squeezing – a lot of fun!

On our next stop at Escalate Staircase National Monument, we spent 2 days with 3 hikes (15M) to the Low Calf Creek Falls, Spooky and Peek-a-boo and Zebra Slot Canyon and a visit at the Escalate Heritage Center.

The day we arrived we hiked in the evening through the Spooky and Peek-a-boo Slot Canyon with the kids. We had a lot of fun. Especially, the Peek-a-boo Canyon is very narrow at some parts just 12 inches, so we had to turn sideways and take off our backpacks.

The next day  we hiked the Zebra Slot Canyon.  We had to walk about 2.5 Miles in full sun to reach the Canyon. The Canyon itself is 200 feet long and was filled on two spots with water so we had to take off our shoes. We did not carry our backpacks this time, so it was a lot easier to go through the narrows.

On our way back we stopped at Devils Garden to take some pictures.

Since I love waterfall, everybody had to hike with me to the Lower Calf Creek Falls in the evening, so the 5.3 miles hike was not so busy anymore and we had to share the fall only with one couple.

The next morning, we drove to Bryce Canyon National Park.
